A doctor orders every test

Elucia is not a kit you post off on your own. A doctor reviews your request and orders the test through a telehealth consultation that is included in the price. That consultation is where you work out whether screening is right for you, and which panel fits.

Genetic counselling on an increased chance

If you and your partner both carry a change in the same gene, a session with a genetic counsellor is included. They take you through what the result means for your plans. It is not billed separately, because a result without a conversation attached is incomplete.

An accredited laboratory

Samples are processed in an accredited clinical laboratory. Elucia is built on more than one hundred years of Australian pathology and diagnostics experience.

What we report, and what we do not

We report carrier status for the genes on the panel you take. We do not report variants of uncertain significance, because they add worry without adding useful information. Your report lists every gene the panel covered, so you can see the boundary of what was tested.

No carrier screen covers every gene or every variant. A clear result lowers the chance of a condition rather than ruling it out.

Your data

Results are held on encrypted servers and are not shared with anyone else without your consent. You can ask for your sample to be destroyed once testing is complete, and you can request a copy of, or the deletion of, the information we hold about you.

A clearer place to start.

Carrier screening helps you know where you stand and plan for your family with peace of mind.
